Headbanging New Year, on October 14th. The album will feature performances from such icons as Alice Cooper, Vinny Appice, Lemmy Kilmister, Ronnie James Dio, Dave Grohl, Chuck Billy, Tommy Shaw and more, as they put a heavy metal twist on popular holiday songs.

“I am proud to represent two things that have nothing to do with Christmas, Judaism and Metal” – Scott Ian

We Wish You a Metal Xmas and a Headbanging New Year is the culmination of the creative efforts of Wendy Dio, Bob Kulick, and Brett Chassen who orchestrated the project, and assembled the all-star cast of heavy metal masters. “This is a metal CD you will want to listen to all year round. It has been a very exciting and exhausting project, but we have managed to get an all-star cast together.” said Wendy Dio.

“We started the proceedings with Santa getting us Dave Grohl, Lemmy and Billy Gibbons. Well actually it was my idea but once we recorded them, the rest fell into place with Ronnie James Dio, Alice Cooper and the rest really making this Xmas cd something every metal and hard rock fan should have. Xmas will never be the same!” – Bob Kulick

“Well, I gotta say, this was a blast,” explains Tim “Ripper” Owens. “To me, this makes sense. There are a lot of Christmas CD’s out there, but not a real METAL one, and it is about time! A CD filled with some great metal musicians and Christmas cheer…Now let the METAL holidays begin.”

“One of the most inspired, and at times disturbing, Xmas offerings metal-heads will ever hear. I’m proud to be a part of it. Please pass the black eggnog over here!” – James LoMenzo

Here’s what some of the artists had to say about the record.

“There is nothing silent about the track. It has to be one of the most brutal Xmas tracks on the planet.” – Chuck Billy

“If Satan threw a Christmas party, this is the record he would play all night long,” added Rudy Sarzo

“It was a pleasure collaborating with such gifted musicians and reworking these Xmas classics. Have a Metal Xmas and a headbanging new year.” – Simon Wright

“I love Christmas and I love metal!” – John 5

“Thrash legends playing Xmas songs. How could I say no?” – Jon Donais

“It was an absolute pleasure to participate in the Metal Xmas recording alongside all these greats of the rock world. This is got to be the first of its kind. A big applause to Mrs. Wendy Dio for making 2008 a rock’n Christmas and new year. Cheers to all.” – Oni Logan

“Xmas will never be the same…now all the headbanging people in the world can really rock around the Xmas tree!” – Bruce Kulick

“Tearing up the bass for Santa is a lot of fun!” – Chris Wyse

“I never saw myself as a studio musician, but these kinds of projects really appeal to me: the opportunity to fit in someone else’s arrangement and hopefully come up with something that makes it even better. I was impressed with the sounds I heard on my working mix, and can’t wait to hear the whole album!” – Steve Morse
